Tee Hee. Is it lame to comment on your own post? Possibly, but this is just to good to pass up. How in the hell (I'm a die hard Mets fan mind you) are you going to shut down Yankee stadium after 85 yrs and a tremendous amount of history to move across the street? Why not spend the money on renovations? As a fan of the great game of baseball, this is just sad. I think hell has frozen over and Jesus and the Devil are sharing a Tee time. Shutting the doors on history is sad, especially when their is still so much life left. It's a shame. And on top of that, the Yanks are sucking MAJOR ASS JUICE this year. Not even a playoff run to shut the doors. At least the Mets are making a hearty push to close out Shea in style.

Hey!! Let that hate out your heart! But honestly I'm sad that they are tearing down that stadium I never got to go to many games now I'm really regretting it.

Do me a favor Jeff, let this be the last time you breath the words Yankees and Mets in the same paragraph to even try and compare the two. Do you see an article about Shea Stadium on Sports Illustrated, all day coverage of shea stadium, has shea stadium hosted the likes of Mohammed Ali, 3 different Popes, Football Championships, countless baseball championships? No, no, no, no, no, no, no, and no. No one gives a crap that Shea Stadium is closing, so no one cares that the bum juice Mets who should have already clinched a playoff spot are having another one of their famous September collapses. Yankee Stadium should not be closing, on that we can agree. It is a Cathedral, a National Treasure, an Iconic monument. It's truly a sad day, but the Yankees, although they are having a bad season, have ended this home stand in style and have brought pride to the closing of our historic stadium. Regardless if you hate the Yankees no one who is a baseball fan can say that Yankee Stadium isn't the most historic ballpark and one of the crowning achievements of baseball history. It will forever be missed. I had tears in my eyes while at the game this weekend knowing I would never again step foot inside that beautiful place.

"THANK THE GOOD LORD FOR MAKING ME A YANKEE FAN!"

Dude, as mush history as their is in Yankee stadium, it's not the most historic park. That title goes to either Fenway or Wrigley. Yankee stadium is def up there, don't get me wrong. But the fact that you are saying Yankee Stadium is the most historic ballpark is false. I'll say top 3, but not number 1

And Mig, didn't you yourself admit you were a Mets fan back in the day? HMMMMMMM....

WRONG!! I said my Dad was a band wagon Mets fan in '86. I said I was always a Yankee fan but since they were always losing in the 80's my Dad made us watch Met games. Although I didn't hate the Mets back in the day I was never a fan.

As for those other ballparks, you're wronng. Ask any baseball historian...Yankee Stadium is the most historic Ballpark in history Dude. Wrigley Field nor Fenway Park come close. They may be the most oldest Ballparks now but they are by no means the most historic.

Remember I said HISTORIC not oldest dummy. Yankee Stadium is the ONLY stadium to host 3 Popes, Various Boxing Matches, including Joe Lewis v. Max Sherling (Twice) which was back when Hitler was trying to establish dominance over all other races, we hosted Mohammed Ali fights, we had the first Football Championship game at YANKEE STADIUM, the first Overtime Football Game was at Yankee Stadium, we've been home to some of the most renowned and prolific ballplayers in major league history, we've won the Most World Series titles in baseball history and the most pennants in baseball history, we've been to the most playoffs in baseball history, so I'm sorry to tell you my dear "SIMPLE" friend that YANKEE STADIUM IS, IN FACT, THE MOST HISTORIC BALLPARK IN BASEBALL HISTORY. Baseball players from around both leagues stand in awe at Yankee Stadium. MOST HISTORIC BALLPARK IN HISTORY...YANKEE STADIUM.

Oh and we've been host to 3 Perfect games, one of which was the only perfect game ever thrown in the World Series. If Yankee Stadium could talk the stories it could tell. Magical!

The only thing it would tell would be boring ass stories. I knew what you meant jerk face. Since its so great and grand, I'm glad to see it was protected by the landmark society.
